DEFECTS ANALYSIS – TREE ROOTS

Client: Private
Status: Completed July 2022
Role: Building Surveyor
Sector: Residential

The property is a bungalow building in Brentwood and extensive damage was evident on the drive. A large tree at the front is located in the neighbouring property adjacent to the boundary. The roots of trees commonly cause damage to properties. This damage will often take the form of cracking within paving or boundary walls and in more serious cases the foundations or drainage can be damaged.

Our role was to investigate the cause of undulations and cracking of the paving. Together with specifying appropriate remedial works and estimation of the repair cost.
