Heathrow Hotel, 3-star 350 room – The project involved a “refresh” exercise of the entire front of house parts e.g. rooms, reception, lift cars, corridors and limited plant repairs. The design was carried out by the signature Architect, Dexter Moren Associates. Extensive due diligence was carried out to ensure that essential plant repairs were considered. However, the focus was on light touch changes such as lighting, paint finishes, carpet and modern FF&E.

The project main challenge was to remain operational during the refresh exercise. This was achieved by approaching the works via a top down phased exercise. On completion of the works at each level the programme move down to the next level, but at ground level it became a zonal exercise.

Two model rooms were created at the outset to test the design aesthetics, materials suitability, functionality and budgets.

Our role was to project manager, followed by the contract administrator. Management of the design team quality inspections was important to ensure that the Client’s high expectations were achieve.
